Rue looked around the island town with critical blue eyes. He'd been in this town since the day he was born, and he was getting tired of it. The Jolly Roger was calling him, and he planned to heed it. Just like his grandfather did.
He snatched an apple off a nearby stand and ate it. But t wasn't so simple. He could afford a sailboat, maybe, and a cheap one at that. And he had no crew....
The Wartortle sighed, this wasn't going to be easy.

Rue stumbled backward, and just avoided falling on his shell. "Hey, watch were you're going! You just about knocked me over!"

Kaori had teleported in from across the lake. Cobalt Village was one of her favorite places to visit. She had popped in near a Wartortle's and Croconaw's conversations. She heard the Wartortle, known as Rue Rorr, say he was going to be a Pokemon Pirate. She walked over. "Did you say you were going to be a Pokemon Pirate? If so, then could I be your crew's navigator?"

"Whatcha doing there Rorr? Stop telling people you're gonna be a pirate. There's no way!" A Poliwrath said coming out of an alley.

Kaori narrowed her eyes at the Poliwrath. "Well, he has a navigator with a type advantage over you!"

"Cool. Then if we win, you're on my crew." Rue said before firing a Hydro Pump at the Poliwrath.
The Poliwrath moved out of the way in time, then used Dymanic Punch.

Kaori's eyes glowed blue as she used Psychic on Poliwrath.

Poliwrath flew backwards from the hit. He then stood and used Mind Reader on Kaori.
Rue ran foreward and used Skull Bash. The blow knocked Poliwrath back, and dazed him as a Critical Hit.

Kaori sent Rainbow Leaves as her eyes glowed blue, AKA a Magical Leaf-Psychic combo, on Poliwrath.

Poliwrath was hit hard, and his energy began to wane. He used Dynamic Punch to confuse Kaori. He attack hit due to Mind Reader.
Rue used Rapid Spin to attack Poiwrath, knocked him in the belly and landed a little ways away.

Kaori closed her eyes and concentrated, sending a Magical Leaf out. She luckily sent it towards Poliwrath.

The Poliwrath fell back, and seemed to have had enough. "You got lucky this time, but there's no way that squirt's ever going to be a big pirate."
With that the Poliwrath ran off.
Rue grinned. "Wow, you really are tough! Welcome to the crew!"
